WOMAN GIVES BACK AFTER BLOOD DONORS HELP SAVE HER PREMATURE SON
Because it was baby number six for Rhonda M. of Clayton, DE, she expected her pregnancy and delivery to go just as smoothly as for her other children. But at 5 months, Rhonda suddenly went into labor and delivered her son Jonathan. He weighed just one pound, six ounces.

Because of his small size and numerous complications, Jonathan required several blood transfusions - all provided by anonymous blood donors. He remained in the hospital for 5 months before being discharged.
Rhonda joined the Blood Bank of Delmarva shortly thereafter and has been donating blood ever since.
"Giving blood has always been a small way for me to show my appreciation," Rhonda M. said. "It's a way for me to help make someone else's situation a little brighter. Without those blood transfusions, my son would not be alive today."
