Michael Franklin Elected Chair of Southern Delmarva Regional Board
SALISBURY, MD - Blood Bank of Delmarva is pleased to announce that Michael Franklin, President and CEO of Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, has been elected Chair of its Southern Delmarva Regional Board. William Robinson, marketing specialist for the McCready Foundation in Crisfield, has been elected Vice-Chair. Members of this board, along with the Northern and Mid-Delmarva Regional Boards, work in their communities to increase awareness about the need for blood and to encourage people to join and support the Blood Bank.
Both Franklin and Robinson have deep roots in the Southern Delmarva community and bring a lot of experience to their positions on the board. Michael Franklin joined Atlantic General Hospital and Health System as President and CEO in October 2005. Prior to that position, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, MD and has served in healthcare management for more than 20 years.
As a marketing specialist for the McCready Foundation, Bill Robinson promotes healthcare services, works as a community liaison, and manages the Foundation's website. Prior to that position, Robinson worked as a journalist for a daily newspaper in South Carolina. He began his communications career in the late 1970s at his hometown newspaper, The (Salisbury, MD) Daily Times, where he was a general assignment reporter/photographer.
In addition to Franklin and Robinson, there were two new members also elected to the Southern Delmarva Regional Board: Velda Henry, Human Resources Specialist for the Worcester County Board of Education, and Linda Mundt, Vice President of M&T Bank.
