Wilmington, DE- While many Americans rush to buy gifts for their friends and family this holiday season, on Monday, December 10, more than 100 people gave another type of gift- the gift of life. Blood Bank of Delmarva hosted the first-ever Holiday Heroes Blood Drive at the Talleyville Fire Hall (3919 Concord Pike).

More than a dozen leaders from the civic and business community came together in support of "VIP Donor Day" on July 11. "VIP Donor Day" is held in support of the Blood Bank of Delmarva's 5th annual Summer Blood Challenge, a Delmarva-wide competition among area employers to recruit the most blood donors and Blood Bank members. "VIP Donor Day" also calls attention to the Blood Bank's Wilmington Donor Center, where it can often be a struggle to fill donation schedules. Course: Course starts and finishes at Frawley Stadium on the Riverfront. Fast and Flat!
Amenities: T-Shirts and post race refreshments. Post race party tba.
Awards: Overall male and female plus top 2 in 5 year age groups 13 under through 70 over. Top 3 male and female walkers.
Entry Fee: $16 pre till July 18th $20 day of event.
