Linda's Top Picks
Joseph Frederick and Sons
Joseph Frederick and Sons is one of our smaller companies with a big impact. Offering membership to their employees and retirees since 1973, they have an outstanding 74% participation! Alexander "Uncle Bud" Frederick, who sadly lost his fight with cancer in 2008 shortly after celebrating his 54th anniversary with the company, donated at least 13-gallons - most of which was through plateletpheresis. Alexander was one of our true examples of a hero.
Christiana Care
Christiana Care has been a leading example of group sponsorship for the Blood Bank since the 1960's. They have been consistent participators and winners in our Summer Blood Challenge since it began in 2002, taking top honors in their size category. Christiana Care also demonstrates their support by allowing the Account Executive to regularly present at their New Employee Orientations and recruit new members at their satellite offices.
Artesian Water
Artesian Water has moved full speed ahead in their support of the Blood Bank. More than 50% of their employees are members! In 2007, they brought a record-breaking team of 98 participants to our Summer Blood Challenge 5K Walk/Run and hosted their first onsite blood drive for the Summer Blood Challenge in 2008. It was a great success due to their hard work and dedication.
Valero Energy Corporation
Valero began supporting the Blood Bank in the 1960's, and now more than 41% of their employees support the community blood program. Valero also promotes the Blood Bank at every New Employee Orientation, invites their Account Executive to their annual Health Fair, and participates in the Summer Blood Challenge each year.
Thank you all for your commitment to saving lives!
