Town of Ocean City
I want to thank the Town of Ocean City for their wonderful support of the 11th annual Beach Blanket Blood Drive and the group membership plan.  Every year, the town donates the use of the Ocean City Convention Center to the Blood Bank for the major 2-day event.  The town also promotes the blood drive among employees and allows them donate during work hours.  Group membership for the Town of Ocean City now exceeds 30% participation, which makes them a top pick with the Blood Bank.

Eastern Correctional Institute
The Eastern Correctional Institute in Somerset County had a small Blood Bank group for many years.  But late last year, a Blood Bank regional board member encouraged the warden to increase participation by scheduling presentations for all shifts and departments, enabling all staff to learn about the importance of blood donation and how easy it is to join the Blood Bank.  As a result, 136 new members signed up—increasing participation by 125%.  Thanks ECI!

Girl Scouts of America
Blood Bank of Delmarva was chosen as one of the recipients of the Girl Scouts of America in Wicomico County’s annual cookie donation through a campaign called “Operation Taste of Home.”  The campaign allows the public to buy Girl Scout cookies that will be sent to military troops around the world and to local organizations that save lives on Delmarva.  The cookies will be used in the Blood Bank’s Salisbury Center canteen and at various mobile locations.  Thanks Girl Scouts of America!
