  It is almost impossible to believe. The adorable little girl doing a “pillow slide” down the stairs of her home, making everyone laugh, was lying in a hospital bed, critically ill, a little more than a year ago. Her parents didn’t know if she would survive.
  
• Letter from a Recipient:
  Just a note to express my gratitude for the Blood Bank. For several years (1995 – 1997), blood and platelets were available to help my wife during her battle with cancer. When she passed away, I became a donor to repay what had been given to her.
