Donor Recruiter / Full Time / Dover

Full Time (Schedule is driven by workload and production needs)

This will cover the Sussex County Area.

Summary/Objective:

This position is accountable for engagement of community partners to support blood donation by individually donating blood or hosting blood drives and promoting blood donations to their members, clientele, and/or employees.  The incumbent will engage with School Boards and Superintendants in the associated territory to develop and solidify BBD’s relationship with the school districts.  The incumbent will strive to secure BBD’s presence as the premier provider of blood services within the associated territory and corporately within the region.   This position coordinates with department management to assure the adequate supply of blood in support of effective and efficient delivery of blood products to the hospitals and patients served by BBD.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business or similar discipline and 3 years of proven successful sales, marketing, supply chain management, or customer service experience required.   Combined education and experience, which leads to a working knowledge of soliciting blood donations or community support of non-profit organizations, will be considered in lieu of a degree.  Must complete BBD training in donor recruitment and scheduling as well as have a working knowledge of the donation process.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Sales experience in a healthcare related field preferred.  Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit or stand.  Occasional kneeling and stooping is required.  The employee is regularly required to walk, and reach with the hands and arms.  The hands are regularly used to handle, write or type, and finger or feel small controls, and objects.  The employee frequently must talk, and listen or hear and use telephonic and other electronic communication devices.  Occasionally weights up to 25-50 lbs. are lifted and moved in this position.

Travel:

Travel to potential clients, community events, blood drive sites and other BBD facilities to conduct sales calls or coordinate activities related to blood donation is required on a routine basis and is a rudimentary part of this position. Flexible schedule including nights and/or weekends is required for special events.  A valid driver’s license with positive points will be required for this position.
