Director of Quality Systems Management
Margaret came to Blood Bank of Delmarva in 1987 as a part-time phlebotomist, and became a full-time apheresis technician later that year. For the majority of her 31 years she worked in the Donor Services department in various training and leadership roles. In 2015, Margaret became Director of Quality Systems Management. In this role, Margaret provides strategic oversight and management of activities related to ensuring that the organization complies with AABB’s Quality System Essentials as well as the regulatory requirements of federal, state, local, and industry agencies. In addition, she works to promote a culture of quality and continuous process improvement throughout the organization. She is also involved with various industry organizations such as AABB and American Society for Apheresis.
Prior to joining BBD, Margaret, who is a Licensed Practical Nurse, worked in a variety of traditional nursing positions before finding her calling in blood banking. Margaret holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management, and a Master of Science in Management degree with a focus on Organizational Leadership. She also holds a certificate in training and staff development and a certificate in human resource management, all from Wilmington University.
