Ric has more than 34 years of clinical laboratory experience in a variety of settings, including teaching hospitals and non-teaching hospitals, physician office laboratories, clinics, reference laboratories, and blood centers in New York, Florida, Virginia and now Delaware. He also instructed Medical Technology interns and taught as an adjunct professor on clinical laboratory techniques.
Ric has a Bachelor of Arts/Biology (1983) and a Bachelor of Science/Medical Technology (1984), graduating with honors. His clinical training included all areas of clinical laboratory and is certified through ASCP. Blood banking comprises the majority of his career, spanning 28 years.
Ric also earned a Masters of Business Administration (2015) from the University of Delaware MBA program with a concentration in finance.
He published an AABB poster abstract on the relationship between consumption of food and beverage prior to donating and adverse reactions in teenagers and a Transfusion Business Journal article about a shortage of Medical Technologists. He has co-authored several other poster abstracts for AABB presentations as well.
