Maverick Is Turning One!

Maverick Ford Painter entered this world at 1:10am on September 3, 2018 weighing 1 lb, 14 oz. Maverick was one of triplets born prematurely to Shane Simmons and Jason Painter. Maverick received O- blood, the only type that can be universally donated, making it the safest for premature babies. He received 8 transfusions during the 105 days he spent in the hospital.

Now, we are celebrating his 1st birthday!

Be part of this special giving event to celebrate Maverick's big milestone. From August 26 - 31, you can visit any of our donor centers to celebrate with us. We've got ice cream and more special treats to show our love for Maverick. On Saturday, August 31, the biggest celebration of the week is happening at Hack's Point Fire Company in Earleville, MD. Maverick's family is hosting a blood drive in his honor, and we want YOU to come celebrate with them!

In addition to celebrating Maverick, we are also excited to give back to another organization that helped Maverick and his family during his hospital stay. From August 26-31 at our donor centers, and on August 31 at the blood drive, we'll be accepting donations of board games, sports items, baby toys and craft sets to be given to the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware.

Be part of this big celebration; sign up to donate today!

Help us pay it forward by donating blood, and donating items to Ronald McDonald House of Delaware!

We're so excited to be paying it forward in more ways than one during Maverick's birthday celebration! Maverick and his family were part of Ronald McDonald House opportunities during his stay at A.I. duPont Hospital for Children | Nemours. In an effort to keep the giving going, we're providing all of our donors with the opportunity to bring in board games, sports items, baby toys and craft sets to be given to Ronald McDonald House of Delaware.

The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware provides a safe, affordable “home-away-from-home” to families of seriously or chronically ill or injured children who are being treated at area hospitals and operates 3 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms within pediatric units of hospitals across Delaware.

Please note; RMHDE cannot accept stuffed animals at this time. Please bring donations that include board games, sports items, baby toys and craft sets.
