We will be testing donors who make a blood or platelet donation for antibodies to COVID-19 from December 14, 2020 - January 31, 2021.
As regions reopen, the need for blood has rebounded to pre-COVID-19 levels, but the blood supply is dangerously low. Donors can call 1.888.825.6638 or schedule an appointment online now.
The public health crisis and events across the country continue to impact the blood supply. If you're healthy and able to visit a donor center or blood drive we are urging you to make an immediate appointment to help keep the blood supply strong.
BBD is now increasing the nation’s supply of convalescent plasma by collecting donations from those who have recovered from COVID-19. BBD will collect, process the plasma for infusion, and maintain a bank for hospitals to treat patients with serious or immediately life-threatening COVID-19 infections. We are asking all eligible donors to come forward so we can treat as many patients as possible.
To protect our staff and donors, donors must wear a mask or face covering when presenting to donate.
To manage donor flow appointments are preferred; walk-ins will be permitted as long as social distancing can be maintained.
BBD is committed to the safety of our donors, volunteers, employees and blood recipients, and to transparency with the public during this evolving public health emergency.
