The annual Blood for a Brew campaign is critical to raise awareness on the need for blood and to encourage new blood donors to come forward and save a life. The summer months from Memorial Day through Labor Day represent a challenging period in a normal year, with school breaks, family vacations and the holidays. Encouraging blood donations during this difficult summer period is essential to meeting the needs of patients in our community.

BBD is proud to share that 19 breweries have committed to hosting blood drives this summer; this is more than double the number of breweries that comprised the first Blood for a Brew tour in 2021.

Participating breweries include Twisted Irons, Wilmington Brew Works, Two Stones Pub, Crooked Hammock, Dogfish Head Brewery, Big Oyster, Dewey Beer Company, Evolution Craft Brewing, Volunteer Brewing, and more.

When is it happening?

The kick-off blood drive is at Dogfish Head Craft Brewery in Milton, DE on Monday, May 20th from 12-6pm. Other tour stops are being confirmed and will run through September 10th.

All those who join us to donate at a summer brewery drive will receive a 2024 Blood for a Brew Tour T-shirt and be entered into a sweepstakes at the end of the campaign for a chance to win a gift card from select breweries.
